Water Resistance

Water Resistance basically describes how well a watch can withstand exposure to water without impairing it. These ratings are usually measured in meters or atmospheres (ATM), and they indicate the depth, pressure, or other factor with which the watch can cope. For example, the 30-meter rating is protected from splashes but cannot handle swimming, while at 200-meter rate, a watch can withstand deep-sea diving.

Waterproof watches achieve their ruggedness through features such as gaskets, screw-down crowns, and tightly sealed casebacks. Knowing these ratings ensures the longevity of the watch and prevents accidental water damage. Beyond utility, water resistance gives wearers an additional layer of confidence in daily and extreme conditions.
